Virtual Assistant - Demystifying Technology for Small Businesses

Virtual Assistants are increasingly helping disllusioned small business owners who can't keep up with technology. Virtual Assistants are dragging small business owners along and demystifying technology.

A key part of our role is to be an 'assistant'. This means that we provide what our customers request and want.

I often try to convince my customers to upgrade to new and better technological solutions, but sometimes they just aren't ready. There are a lot of small business owners that are good at what they do, but they do not easily adapt to new technologies.

Integrated IT solutions are only helpful if they save time. It would be wrong for a Virtual Assistant to push a complex IT solution on a customer who has reservations about using it. I have worked with companies who have purchased expensive CRM solutions when they only use a few of the features.

I recommend technology all the time, but I listen to my customers and help find the best fit.

B2B Email Marketing Myth

Image via Wikipedia It's ok to send unsolicited B2B email marketing campaigns in the UK. I have read conflicting information about whether it is acceptable to send unsolicited emails to businesses in the UK.  According to the I nformation Commissioner's Office , "Corporate subscribers - The rules on email do not apply to emails sent to organisations except that you must still identify yourself and provide an address." This information is readily available in their  Data Protection Good Practice Note Electronic mail marketing I also contacted Business Link regarding this matter, and the person I spoke with confirmed that it is acceptable to send unsolicited emails to businesses in the UK.
