"Expo Overview 

Work From Home Expo is a regional exhibition specifically for individuals across the Midland region with aspirations to work from home, either as an employee, franchisee or self-employed. Held at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry on Friday 17th and Saturday 18th June 2011, in the main Jaguar Exhibition Hall, this innovative exhibition will deliver an eclectic mix of educational seminar opportunities and commercial solutions meeting the requirements of an ever growing number of people with a desire to work from home.

In 2009 an additional 1.5m individuals from across the UK took on a form of 2nd job or source of income, predominantly these were home based; this figure is set to rise through 2010 and on into 2011 as the economy recovers and Work From Home Expo is the place for these new entrepreneurs, franchisees and employees to get a 360 degree understanding of all of the options open to them. Provided by Lyme Media & Events Ltd, the event will feature a number of exhibitors either offering potential franchise and business opportunities that are home based, or a number of support service providers offering solutions to greatly improve the success of these new ventures. We’ll also be providing an eclectic mix of educational seminars to inform, engage and educate all visitors on anything from identifying the right franchise, to financing your new venture."

I have read conflicting information about whether it is acceptable to send unsolicited emails to businesses in the UK.  According to the I nformation Commissioner's Office , "Corporate subscribers - The rules on email do not apply to emails sent to organisations except that you must still identify yourself and provide an address." This information is readily available in their  Data Protection Good Practice Note Electronic mail marketing I also contacted Business Link regarding this matter, and the person I spoke with confirmed that it is acceptable to send unsolicited emails to businesses in the UK.
